UFOLOGIST CURRENT NEWS
This section will contain
current information given to us from websites of leading authorities on UFO’s
such as our first one here from Nick Pope of Great Britain.
Nick Pope used to run the
British Government’s UFO project at the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
Initially skeptical, his research and investigation into UFO phenomenon
and access to formerly classified government files on the subject soon convinced
him that the phenomenon raised important defense and national security issues,
especially when the witnesses were military pilots or where UFO’s were tracked
on radar. Nick also looked into other mysteries such as alien
abductions, crop circles and ghosts. He
now continues his research in a private capacity and is recognized as a leading
authority on UFO’s and the unexplained. He
does extensive media work, lectures all around the world and has acted as
consultant on numerous television documentaries.
(Editors note:
We are pleased that Mr. Pope has agreed to let us use relevant
information, regularly, from his monthly column, published in the UK.)
In my column last month I
previewed a new UFO documentary that was broadcast in the UK on 1 November.
Entitled: “The British UFO
Mystery”, the show told the story of a wave of UFO sightings that occurred
over the UK on 30 and 31 March 1993, involving a vast triangular shaped craft,
witnessed in many parts of the UK.
Many of the witnesses were
police and military personnel and the UFO flew directly over two Royal Air Force
bases, RAF Cosford and RAF Shawbury. Some
witnesses recalled the UFO firing a narrow beam of light at the ground and heard
an unpleasant low frequency humming sound coming from the craft.
The UFO traveled slowly at
times but one of the RAF witnesses described it suddenly accelerating away at a
speed many times faster than a military jet aircraft.
The production company,
Steel Spyda, broke with tradition when making this investigative documentary.
Instead of featuring an endless stream of talking heads (witnesses,
believers and skeptics), they obtained the MOD case file on the incident, using
the Freedom of Information Act, and based the program around this.
The file contains around 105 individual documents and as I had been
running the MOD UFO project at the time and had led the investigation into these
sightings, the production company asked me to act as lead contributor and tell
the story of the official inquiry.
A TV critic said:
“Neither Mulder or Scully were around to host this, so we have Nick
Pope investigating a flying triangle spotted hovering over several military
bases in the UK”
Ufologists were very
pleased to see a program on UFO’s on one of the five TV channels at primetime
and the program has prompted much discussion and debate on various UFO related
websites.
One of the most interesting
things is that following the broadcast of the documentary, I received around 25
emails from new witnesses to the March 1993 event and from people who had seen
very similar shaped UFO’s to the one featured in the documentary.
SILENT RUNNING: ‘BLACK TRIANGLE’ SIGHTINGS ON THE RISE
By
Leonard David
(Ed. Note:
Reprinted with permission here from Mr. David with full credit to www.Space.com
the website in which the article first appeared on 9/2/04.)
Bear in mind while reading this article that in 1994 triangles were still
relatively new in the sighting field. Since
this article the numbers of triangle sightings have increased at a tremendous
rate.)
They have become legendary
in UFO circles. Huge,
silent-running “Flying Triangles” have been seen by ground observers
creeping through the sky low and slow, near cities and quietly cruising over
highways.
The National Institute for
Discovery Science (NIDS), has catalogued the Triangle sightings, sifting through
and combining databases to take a hard look at the mystery craft.
Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, NIDS is a privately funded science institute
with a strong research focusing on aerial phenomena.
The results of their study have just been released and lead to some
unnerving, still puzzling conclusions.
The study points out:
“The United States is currently experiencing a wave of Flying Triangle
sightings that may have intensified in the 1990’s especially towards the
latter part of the 1990’s. The wave continues. The
Flying Triangles are being openly deployed over and near population centers,
including in the vicinity of major interstate highways.
COVERT OPERATIONS?
A key NIDS conclusion is
that the actions of these triangular craft do not conform to previous patterns
of covert deployment of unacknowledged aircraft. Furthermore, “neither the agenda nor the origins of the
Flying Triangles are currently known.”
The years 1990 – 2004
have seen an intense wave of Flying Triangle aircraft, the study observes.
Sifting through reports by hundreds of eyewitnesses, the NIDS assessment
states that the behavior of the vehicles “does not appear consistent with the
covert deployment of an advanced DoD (U.S. Department of the Defense)
aircraft.”
Rather, it is consistent
with (a) the routine and open deployment of an unacknowledged advanced DoD
aircraft or (b) the routine and open deployment of an aircraft owned and
operated by non-DoD personnel, suggests the NIDS study.
“The implications of the
latter possibility are disturbing, especially during the post 9/11 era when the
United States airspace is extremely heavily guarded and monitored,” the NIDS
study explains. “In support of
option (a), there is much greater need for surveillance in the United States in
the post 9/11 era and it is certainly conceivable that deployment of low
altitude surveillance platforms is routine and open.”
According to Colm Kelleher,
NIDS Administrator, the newly completed quasi “meta-analysis” of Flying
Triangles melds three major U.S. databases:
NIDS, The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and data collected by independent
researcher, Larry Hatch, the creator and owner of one of the largest and most
comprehensive UFO databases in the world.
Kelleher said, the analysis
indicates that deployment of Flying Triangles is open, not covert, and involves
low-flying, brightly lit aircraft routinely deployed over populated areas
including cities and Interstate highways.
“However, I cannot say
whether these are U.S. Air Force aircraft.
We simply don’t know.” Kelleher told SPACE.com.
“But it does not appear to be consistent with the covert patterns of
deployment we saw with the F-117 and the B-2 prior to their acknowledgement.
This is open, even brazen,” he stated.
For example, a perfunctory
look at how past DoD stealth aircraft programs were kept from the public eye –
although eventually came to light – is different from the patterns for the
Flying Triangles.
Prior to acknowledgement of
the F-117 and B-2 aircraft, only rare nighttime sightings occurred in the
sparsely populated sections of Nevada, (Area 51 ed.), California and a few other
states. Flying at low altitude over
populated areas was rarely reported for the F-117 or the B-2.
“In contrast, the Flying
Triangle deployment, especially during the 1990’s, appears more consistent
with the open and public operation of these aircraft,” the study explains.
The trend of open deployment of the Flying Triangles is not consistent
with the secret operation of an advanced DoD aircraft.
The database-driven study
of the Flying Triangle shows the following patterns:
-
Sightings take place near cities and on
Interstate highways
-
They are seen at low altitude in plain
sight of eyewitnesses
-
They fly at extremely low speed or hover
in plain sight of eyewitnesses
-
The vehicles sometimes fly with easily
noticeable bright lights – either blinding white lights, or have “bright
disco lights” that usually flash combinations of red, green or blue.
The NIDS study emphasizes
that the flying of these vehicles may be more in harmony with an attempt to
display or to be noticed. There
appears to be little or no attempt to hide.
That finding has led to a modification of an earlier NIDS hypothesis that
the Triangles are covertly deployed DoD aircraft.
While it is too early to
dismiss the previously published NIDS correlation between Triangle sightings and
a subset of U.S. Air Force Bases, the apparent association with centers of
population may point away from a covert program. “Rather, it is consistent with routine and open deployment
of an advanced aircraft,” the NIDS study concludes.
During the ensuing years
(2000 – 2004), NIDS received hundreds of reports from people in the United
States and Canada reporting large triangular aircraft, often silent and often
flying at very low altitude and at low air speed.
In many cases, the objects were brightly lit. NIDS files also include reports of Flying Triangles from
remote areas.
In mid 2004, NIDS reviewed
its’ database that contains the locations of the Triangle sightings in the
United States. The sightings of
Triangles appear primarily adjacent to population centers and along Interstate
Highways, with sightings clustered on both coasts.
NIDS has amassed almost 400
separate sightings of triangular/boomerang/wedge-shaped objects.
Many of these craft are brightly lit, low flying and traveling at
unexpectedly low air speeds.
In earlier reports, NIDS
outlined a tentative correlation between reported sightings of Triangles and the
locations of Air Mobility Command and Air Force Materiel Command bases in the
United States.
According to ground
observers, the features of a Black Triangle are indeed impressive.
For example, the NIDS study
includes the observation of a Port Washington, Wisconsin person who encountered
a large object that flew over her home at 500 feet altitude in October of 1998.
Her eyeing of the clear, starry night was interrupted as the craft came
into her field of view.
“Suddenly this
monstrosity came out of the ‘blue’, just like a Star Trek ‘uncloaking’,
no kidding…so quiet I couldn’t believe it and so huge…no more than 500
feet or so up, and big enough to take up my field of sky vision,” she
reported.
Crude mathematics, the
witness recounted, would make the vessel about 200 feet wide and 250 feet long.
In wrapping up its’ look
at the burgeoning number of Flying Triangle sightings in the United States, NIDS
also took into account the work of writers and researchers delving into the
topic both in the United States and abroad.
Those analyses fall into
two camps: The triangles are
human-made, while the other says they are not.
“In 2004 it is extremely
difficult to distinguish between these two possibilities since the former option
overlaps heavily with legitimate national security concerns, while in the
absence of much more physical evidence, the latter option is not testable,”
the NIDS assessment concludes.
(Ed. Notes:
To date this current year almost over, 12/26/06, there have been 3,991
reports in the United States of Flying Triangles.

Chris Augustin defines
himself as an alien/UFO/paranormal investigator.
He maintains a very informational website:
www.aliensthetruth.com which
would be worth your while to visit.
You can see why Chris is so
interested in aliens and UFO’s when you read about his experiences, as
follows:
I was coming home from my
girlfriend’s, (now ex), house. I
had stopped at a red light for a left-handed turn.
A truck pulled up behind me, turning as well. The
light turned green and I went ahead. Then
I felt as if I had just come out of a “spell” after the turn because the
truck was no longer behind me but far ahead of me!
Now, as I am writing this,
I feel like I did when I realized something was wrong.
I feel confused, disoriented and my head feels strange.
Nothing like this has ever
happened to me before. My hands are
shaking as I am writing this. I feel
very paranoid, like there is something wrong.
I was listening to the
“Queen of the Damned” soundtrack on the way home.
The song that was on was track 10. When
I turned onto the street it had just started.
When I noticed the truck in front of me, the disc had gone to the next
song. That track, track 10 is 3:40
long! The road is a cut through,
less than a half-mile long. There is
no way it, (cut 10), could have played all of the way through.
I don’t know what’s
going on or what happened. I have
seen a UFO, that was in 1999 but nothing like this has ever happened.
If you have gone through something like this, please tell me.
Nothing has truly scared me before, but this is scaring me.
If I had fallen asleep for
the duration of the three plus minutes of the song, which is what some people
are suggesting happened, then the truck would not have been still in front of
me, it would have been long gone. Only
seconds transpired in the physical world outside of my car, however, over three
minutes took place inside of the car. Essentially,
I believe that my car and everything in it were removed from the space/time of
the physical world and replaced only seconds later, which allowed for the truck
to now be somewhat ahead of my original position.
There is no possible way that three plus minutes had gone by in a matter
of seconds, unless the time in my car was going at a normal rate in another
dimension or space/time. It is
believed by the UFO community that their ships posses the technology necessary
for such a feat.
Following the sighting I
had on March 12th of 2003, I had some very strange dreams and other
related phenomenon.
I woke up the next morning
remembering vivid dreams about trying to escape from the Men in Black.
No the Will Smith movie kind, but government agents trying to silence me.
Aside from the dreams, I woke up with a very sore nose, mainly my left
nostril. When I was getting ready
for work, I noticed that my nose had also been bleeding during the night, which
is something that never happens to me. I
found blood on my pillow, as well.
As the day went on, the
pain subsided but the memories of my dreams did not.
The other strange thing about my experiences is that my implant has been
causing me a lot of pain leading up to the sighting.
My leg would hurt in that one spot only, for no apparent reason.
It would go away for a time and then return.
This may have been
self-induced paranoia, but I find it odd that after having a sighting, I
experienced some of the most common symptoms related to alien abductions.
I have had a ringing in my
left ear, bloodstains on the bottom of my bed covers that I could not explain
and the most significant of all, a bruise on my lower left leg.
The left side is where most abductees report physical signs in the shape
of a triangle. (Ed. Note:
You can see pictures of his triangular mark on his website.)
Well, it has been over a
week since all of this happened and I still have the mark on my leg.
It is no longer in the shape of a triangle and no longer hurts.
However it never turned yellow like a normal bruise.
The most striking thing about it is that when I touch the area, it feels
as if there is something underneath the skin.
UPDATE
I would say this is a very
important update, the bruising has disappeared but puncture marks have taken
its’ place. I could understand how
the bruise could be normal, but these marks are a whole different story.
There are even four small marks in a perfectly straight line; something
is definitely going on here.
The initial opinion of a
surgeon told me that the bruising and marks I had made it seem like:
“Something
penetrated the skin, it opened, the probe was inserted, residual inflammatory
response from the insertion caused redness and swelling, but the incision was
closed upon itself”
ANOTHER UPDATE
Today I went to a surgeon I
know and he performed an ultrasound on the area in question.
The ultrasound analyzes soft tissue and damage to it.
What he found was that there was tendon damage.
He told me the only way to have damage like that would have been from
surgery. I have never had an
operation on that spot!
The doctor, who has been
practicing for fourteen years, gave me his initial assessment:
“The ultrasound
demonstrates an object, reflecting ultrasound signals back to the probe.
The dark area suggests either a mass, fluid cyst, or foreign body.
If it is non-metallic, the object would not show up on radiograph,
although some adjustments of Kv SETTINGS on ex-ray units will show shadows.
The strange thing in your case which I have not seen on 1000’s of
ultrasound scans is that the tissue surrounding the defect demonstrates no
tissue response, no inflammatory response, simply sitting in there.
It seems that some
technology has the ability to penetrate the skin surface and not disturb
anything. Not even our latest
surgical lasers can do that.”
I went for x-rays as well,
but they showed nothing. I am
contacting Dr. Leir, who is an expert on alien implants.
Hopefully he can provide some assistance here.
